Registration for Kendo Classes

Here is the schedule of the Montreal Kendo Club

 
 
 
CHILDREN'S CLASS (12 years and younger) 

Children's class will begin on September 18, 2023.

Children that are 13 or 14 years old, please see the section below.
 
Course fees are $50 per semester, plus $50 if you need to purchase a bamboo sword. We accept payment by cheque or cash for this class.
 
 
*Children of 13 or 14 years old
 
Children of 13 or 14 years old who wish to take the beginners' class will be seen  by a senior instructor (Sensei) in their first class to determine which class (children or teen/adult) is more suitable for them to participate in based on their physical and mental readiness.
 
Please note that the teen/adult class will practice twice a week, is more intense and they must follow the class rythme.  The cost of the class is also higher ; $170 (+ shinai $50). Following the évaluation, you can register your child in the proper class.
 
TEEN/ADULT CLASS (15 years and above)

The beginner's class for the Teen/Adult will start on September 19 at the Monkland Community center.  Classes will be from 6PM to 7:45pm on Monday and Wednesday

Course fees are $170 per semester, plus $50 for the bamboo sword (Total $220).  We accept payment by cheque, credit card or cash for this class.
 
 
*If you were registered for the beginner's class teen/adult for 2020 that was interrupted, you can retake the class at no costs.  
 
 
Regular members  (Bogu & non-bogu)
 
The practices for regular members will be on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 6PM to 7:45PM.

Monday - Free practice (no instructor)
Wednesday and Friday - Practice with instroctor   
 
 
Contacts (taiatari & tsuba-zeriai) and the kiai must be more "modest" or less enthusiastic.  Social distancing must be practiced whenever possible.
 
Membership fees are the same as in the previous years.

Visitors 
 
We will accept visitors from other kendo club in our region, but please note that we are limited to 25 participants and that priority will be given to members of the Montreal kendo Club.  Visitors will also need to show that they are adequately vaccinated. 
We ask for your understanding since we do not have a mechanism in place to predict the number of participants at each practice.
